I thought it might be useful to make a list of the catalog number range(s) used by the manufacturers. I find it frustrating that they don't differentiate their product lines more clearly. Simply putting a letter in front (like Bburago) would really help. The following is a rough guide only. The manufacturers seem determined to confuse the issue.
  • Anson: 30xxx
  • AUTOart: 80xxx, 89xxx, 7xxxx
  • Bburago: B3xxx or B33xx (i.e. B3000 series and B3300 series)
  • Carousel: 4xxx
  • Ertl: 32xxx, 29xxx, 36xxx
  • GMP [Georgia Marketing & Promotions]: 7xxx, 8xxx, 12xxx
  • Kyosho: 7xxx, 8xxx
  • Lane's: Wxxx
  • Maisto: 31xxx, 36xxx, 38xxx (race)
  • Motor City Classics: x000x
  • Mira: 6xxx
  • Motor Box: 10xxx
  • Racing Legends: 18xxx
  • Revell: 88xx
  • Ricko: 32xxx
  • Signature: 18xxx
  • Solido: 8xxx, 9xxx
  • Sun Star: xxxx (no particular series but usually 4 digits)
  • UT: 2xxxx
  • Yat Ming: 92xxx
