I hope you find these links useful. I have personally checked all these links. I won't put any links here that I don't think are worth the search time. This list may grow only slowly, but I promise quality links.
Scale18

As you can read on his home page, Kevin has been an enthusiast for several years, starting out by collecting European car models, but subsequently branching out to acquire, well, anything that he finds interesting.

To help him, and others, get a handle on just what 1/18 model cars are available, Kevin is compiling what he calls "The Huge List". This is an amazing database that at present comprises over 7000 entries. Each entry contains the manufacturer's name and catalog number, car description, colour and other details. As well, there is a picture of most of the entries. Every variation of a particular model (i.e. different color releases, race versions, special and limited editions, etc.) is included. An amazing feat!

Kevin has a quite good search engine and a facility for anyone to set up a personal database list. There are links to manufacturers' sites, other collectors, mail order outlets, and other useful sites. As much as I like databases, Kevin's site is so good that I have decided not to reinvent the wheel.

I refer you to Kevin's site for details regarding the various versions that these models are available in. I intend to inform you about the models' quality and the history and relevance of the automobile upon which it is based.

Paper Cars

A different and interesting variation of model-making is to be seen at this website. Tamás Szakál in Hungary makes 1/18 scale cars out of PAPER!

Eurous

This new South African based site will be of interest to collectors there and also to any others who are interested in the best quality models.

1/18 Power

For short histories of many diecast manufacturers, along with release lists, try Michael Nahal's 1/18 Power site. He also has thumbnail photos of his very large collection, and other interesting information.

Asheville Diecast

A good site for available and coming releases is the mail order retailer Asheville Diecast in Asheville, North Carolina. They have a reasonably fast search engine.

www.1-18scalecars.com

This site is similar to mine, with pictures and critiques of the site owner's collection. Ronan tends to collect more modern models than I do, but his site is useful, nevertheless. He writes well and it is interesting to get an Irish perspective on cars and models.
