To find models of cars you are interested in, use the database.
From there, many entries have a link to a page of photos and other
information. You can search by:
Model Manufacturer (note spelling of Bburago, Motormax,
Autoart, Yat Ming [for Road Legends and Road Signature], Motor City, Sun
Star)
Car Maker (e.g. Ferrari, Buick, Horch, etc.)
Car model name or number (e.g. 300SL, Fury, Mustang, etc.)
Year (as stated by model manufacturer or assigned by me;
use all 4 digits e.g. 1937 or 2001)
Nationality (use the form British, American, Italian, etc.)
Top 100 List (use 'COTC' for the Car of the Century
competition list, 'Adler' for the Dennis Adler Book list, and 'R&T' for the
Road and Track Magazine list from January 2000.)
Quality Rating (use AA, A, B, C, D. This is not case sensitive
but I use upper and lower case to help differentiate between quality
ratings and price ratings.)
Price Rating (use aa, a, b, c, d, or v. Again, not case
sensitive. v is for models which vary in price because of the multiplicity
of editions or the model is out of production and is subject to collector
prices.
My collection. Inserting an x in this field will bring up
the models in my collection.
It is possible to enter just the first few letters of a word.
However, if you put, for example, Merc for Car Maker you will get Mercedes
and Mercury. If you put Motor for Model Manufacturer you will get Motormax
and Motor City.
You can also try multiple entries. For example, you can
search for British cars made by Bburago or Ferraris from 1957. An
interesting search is for models which sell for less than their quality
rating, i.e. bargains. To do this, put in A for Quality and B for Price or
B for Quality and C for Price.
After you find a model or models you wish to acquire you may want
to visit Kevin Pickell's website Scale18.com to find out all of the
variations of available colors and editions along with the particular
manufacturer's model number.
